Silence Poem by Eliza Crawford

Silence

A week I went in silence
Refraining from all means of speech.

No one seemed to notice,
No one seemed to care,
For I still spoke,
I was still there.

I spoke not with words,
Only with action.
No one missed me for
I was not amiss, not even a fraction.

I spoke firm, loud, and clear.
Embraces and smiles,
I was still there.

A week I went with no words.
But I was not gone, I was not missed.
