Silence Poem by Praveen Bhatia

Silence

Silence everywhere
In my room, in my soul
Sadness everywhere
In my mind, in my heart
Darkness taking over
My days and my life
Shattered dreams, broken heart
How can I make a new start
Don't know why
You said a lie
And left me to die

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
During the 1980's while I was a student in the mountains of Simla, I was very pessimistic. I fell in love and realised sometimes love was a one way traffic. I also realised how true PB Shelley was when he wrote 'Our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thoughts'. I was very fortunate to find true love. I did write quite a lot at that time.
