Silence Poem by Sergio D'Amico

Silence

Rating: 4.5

If I should wake up dead
once the seasons are gone and fed,
I will be as silent as a tree,
and your tears stream like rivers
only to be lost in the sea.

All memories here will be lain
and their tapered voices slain.
A warmth lost in the summer heat,
A cold heart lost in a winter night,
where stars beg for their morning retreat.

No more splendor under the moonlight
just an eternal night,
a making of our own device;
This is the ending we choose,
A peace that comes at a price.
