Silent Poem by Alicia Roseberry

i keep my silence,
never talking to anybody,
my eyes stay on the floor,
i refuse to meet their eyes,
becaue if i do they will see the lies,
lies ive told to cover the truth,
they ask how i got the bruise,
i stay silent,
i dont answer,
if i do she'll come for me,
attacking me,
basically killing me,
tears fall from my eyes,
so silent,
i look up,
i see the door,
i take my chance,
i leave,
silently.
