Silent Halo (Recommended) Poem by Ridah Ellahi

Silent Halo (Recommended)

The little girl
Her innocent smile
Her unabashed purity
Left one mesmerized
The radiance of her face
The clear mirror of her soul
Not tainted, not hampered
From the inside she was whole
That angelic smile
Reached her bottomless blue eyes
No hurdles, no guilt, no agony
No one screamed, no one cried
As time passed by
She saw life for what it really was
How you fight your battles alone
Be prepared and face the next fall
A tough life left its marks
On the little girl’s mind
We all fight our way through
But in the end, we want to rewind
Go back to the time
When you could hold your head high
Feel safe, feel protected
Knowing someone watched over you from the sky
The radiance of her smile
Now, does not reach her eyes
The purity now abashed
It is her strength that leaves you mesmerized
The soul now tainted
The purity, the innocence now gone
The halo rests silently
Not needed, for long
