I told the stars about you,
whispered words that tumbled haphazardly
from liquid lips,
but I didn't tell you.
I wrote in my diary in fancy script
all loops and scrolls adorning it
how wonderful you were,
but I didn't tell you
With friends in giggly groups exchanging secret passions,
childish hopes,
I weaved my dreams,
but I didn't tell you
I hoped my glances slyly taken, might speak
to your unknowing heart,
and opened it to me,
but I didn't tell you
And life moved on, each on a different path,
bittersweet but with a friendship
that innocently endured,
but I didn't tell you.
And today I stand here, a single rose in my hand,
to place on your ebony casket, regret breaking my heart,
and with silent lips,
I finally told you.
I am truly appreciative of your kind words..Thank you so much Kostas. Lodigiana x
