Silent Man Poem by Dorsey Baker

Silent Man

old skin
old bones
doing mime
powerful grin
fighting salty tears
exotic moves shame his age
a breed of dogs
fearless and capable
of much more than biting
courage still in him
forcing himself
to pretend he is young
when he knows he is old
