Silent Revenge Poem by Nenia Arnaiz Dulom

Silent Revenge

Rating: 4.5

I muse at your gestures,
Indication of your defiance,
Wondering how you can hide,
All your ugly feelings,
All your vicious thoughts,
I could see them roll in your eyeballs;

Your act of deception,
Embellished with meek ways,
Siphoning my thoughts
On how to prevent such ruse,
Blame it to gravitational force,
Too weak to avert such pressure,
Refusing to let go;

I know in your act of betrayal and dishonesty,
You can win friendship and sympathy,
I am left with nothing but cynical scrutiny,
Contemptuous eyes around to see,
Critical minds to perceive that chase me,
Since you ignite the flame of suspicion about me;

Around my back you crawl silently,
To scatter lies and duplicity,
What to expect but aversion overtly,
Now I am surrounded with furrowed forehead
And sneering eyes of mockery,
Down the drain supposedly,
Is my trust and confidence in thee;

All these palpable disguises you utilize,
Hidden beneath your docile countenance,
Camouflaged by charming coating
Of sourness with pretentious sweetness,
Your gentle features arrest me
To believe your amore;

Yes with your showy love and kindness,
I haggle with myself to take in,
Like a good entertainment,
I engross and let myself be amused,
I concede to the thought
Of maybe the love is the truth;

I let you caress my soul,
My logic I let go,
At this time my hub is you,
My heart and mind too,
You win back my love that is true,
But perhaps not my injured trust.
