Silently Lived Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Silently Lived

Silently lived

I virtually cried
Tears rushed in
I never knew it was to be farewell
People may ask me to say something or tell

So it was arranged
In hall of the office and decorative pieces were hanged
The music was airing slowly
The atmosphere was turning sad momentarily

I was known very straight and simple
But tough for those people
Who did not help customers?
And caused pain to people who came to insure

So retirement brings activeness to halt
You need strong heart inbuilt
To spend time with no work
And involve in prayer's words

I think you might have prepared stage mentally
That shall take care of you immediately
You will feel fully relieved
As days may go on and you silently lived

Ten years have passed since
I am not silenced but
Developed tolerance
And made simple choice

Silently Lived

Raises the question: Do we work to live or live to work? More to life than work.
