Simple Truth Stands Along Poem by Almedia Knight-Oliver

Simple Truth Stands Along

Rating: 5.0

… some people
you know all your life; some most of your life;
still others, a short time in your life.
his life was so simple and true that
he would want to be spoken of
without fancy words of poetic
meters and rhymes.
His truth laid out one knife,
a salt shakers...simply put,
Individual bags of
Mac’s salt and pepper, one plastic
knife and fork-couldn't waste time
figuring out what to do with silver in twos-
one napkin-
his was sleeve just fine,
one glass- filled with air… don’t care,
lacking candlelight in shadows still dust.
Simplicity and truth alone and naked…

Almedia S Knight (ASK)

In memory of an elderly neighbor (lived alone)
recently passed away.

‘…lacking candlelight in the shadows still dust. /Simplicity and truth alone and naked…’ Well the neighbor was alone but not lone…and you’ve given the person poetic noetic company … I hope… getting nothing is also ‘getting’ Wonderful poem Ma’am 10+ Ms. Nivedita UK
