Sin’s Destination

Is stealing pennies ardent sin?
Does God see murder worse?
Can liars hope life’s crown to win
And flee from Heaven’s curse?

What makes the act of stealing wrong?
What curse can lying bring?
Could such be not the devil’s song?
We to our neighbours sing

To love our neighbour’s not a choice
It’s God’s command on high
Did not five thousand hear Love’s voice?
Before He came to die

So we who walk the devil’s path
Drive nails in Jesus hand
Igniting thus The Father’s wrath
To burn our wayward land

Regardless of each cunning guise
However sweet it’s smell
However good we tell our lies
Sin’s destination’s hell

So now it can be no surprise
If God would close life’s gates
For sin is sin within His eyes
And sin we know He hates

Yet God The King of endless love
Our Lord enthroned in flame
Invites through Christ each child above
Who yet repents of shame

Best seek The Lord whilst yet there’s time
Show neighbours love and care
Turn all our backs to wanton crime
So life will be our share
