Siren Song Poem by D A Phinney

Siren Song

Ah-ah-ah ah-ah-ahh
Ah-ah-ah ah-ah-ahh
Sing to me
With your lurid voice
Beguiling tongue
Waving the ocean on
That breaks with quiet thunder
On my heart
Assail me
With your passionate storms
Of needful fury
Soak me in your siren song
Unlash me
I am wrecked
And you have saved me
See how your liquid charms
Steal through me
I am suspended in your eye
In its calm welcome
While the blood-surf pounds inside me
And your song insinuates past my ears
Turning aural keys to long-buried treasures
Caressing my mind like smoke and creating
Misty moments out of time
My joints fall out
I am splayed naked on your shore
Your salt is in my skin
But I will live
Dashed and made new
On your island
And we shall together
Sing
Ah-ah-ah ah-ah-ahh
Ah-ah-ah ah-ah-ahh...
