Six Hours (Commemoration Of Yolanda Tragedy In The Philippines) Poem by Laurence Ruedas

Six Hours (Commemoration Of Yolanda Tragedy In The Philippines)

One hour of Fear
Afraid of the wind that blows hard
Afraid of the rain that falls heavily

Two hours of Crying
Crying for their loved ones
Crying for their own lives

Three hours of Shouting
Shouting the names of their families
Shouting for help for their safety

Four hours of Searching
Searching for things to satisfy their necessities
Searching for their lost families

Five hours of Surviving
Surviving from the raging flood
Surviving from the killer typhoon

Six hours of Tragedy
Many became homeless
Many felt hopeless

A year passed already
Yet the memory will forever remain
Don't remember your sufferings for it'll cause you pain
Instead reminisce the good things that happen
The camaraderie of every nation
The people helping other people
And the face of God in every person
