Sixteen.. Poem by Lourie Samson

Sixteen..

Sixteen candles lighted that glows out of the darkness
Sixteen leaves that fell on the tree of life
Sixteen feathered pillows to lie from the days of restlessness
Sixteen mountains climbed in the midst of strife
Sixteen stars twinkled at those night of sullenness
Sixteen drops of blood from a heart cut by knife
Sixteen seeds planted with faith, hope, love and goodness
Yes..still at sixteen..until the this day arrive..and
Seventeen more reasons to enjoy life!
