Skin Poem by Paula Glynn

Skin

Water pours over my skin,
The shower washing away morning blues,
And the stress of a day that's about to arrive,
And I apply body cream like a second skin,
My skin soft, smooth and comfortable,
For my lightly tanned skin glows in summer,
And I need no fake tan in those hot summer months,
Wearing my sunglasses and sun cream.

Makeup evens out the beauty of my skin,
For my face is truly beautiful,
My skin perfect, whether pale or tan,
And I expose my skin to the sun,
Sunlight making my skin glow,
And as I dive into the water,
I feel the relief of cooling down.

Foundation adds a rich hue to my skin,
Nights out making my skin glow with sweat,
But it is a rich sweat,
That brightens my complexion,
And I use pressed powder to make my skin matte,
And make my face look pretty and colourful,
For I love my skin: I love being beautiful,
Whether in the summer sun or winter snow.
