Skipping School Poem by Fergal Dunne

Skipping School

I wrote her name in the sand
And looked at it.
I removed it with slight of hand
And wrote another,
To see it I had to stand.

I thought about her face
And I laid back.
The image was easily replaced.
I didn't want to,
But you know just in case.

When we would kiss
My mind would drift,
To kiss the face I miss.
'What are you thinking of? '
'Oh you know just that and this'

I didn't have any rule
I don't know why
Together I saw them, what a fool.
It's not easy been sixteen
Think I'll just skip school.
