Slaves Poem by Joseph Narusiewicz

Slaves

Surrounded by a sea of serenity
I have faith
I have awareness

You are a marble poet
Stone ideals
Abstractions of linear suburbia
Everything in order
Flames of a cover up
Kisses of cryptic wolves
Danger as silent as fog
Our love is a crowd cheering
Defined and refined by the director
Love not the world
Or the things of the world
For if any man love the world
The love of the Father is not in him

Merchants of ancient Tyre
Cherub of lying gold
Take over the world
Palace of Cedar
Strait of Gibraltar
Ships from ancient Arabia
Our minds are stale wings
We join the soul murder
Plunder the sleep of conscience
Alive with collective unconscious vapor
Oh Darling you are a balance
Weighed in life
Life of a strange slave
