Sleep Poem by Kylie Rowe

Sleep

Sleep doesn’t beckon.
Sleep is an undertow, gently dragging consciousness out to the deep ocean of dreams.
Sleep floats on a bed of waves, rocking and…. rocking.
Awake…..asleep…..awake…..asleep
Breath draws deeply and sways rhythmically,
Breathe
Sleep weighs down toes and fingertips, sinking limbs slowly.
Heavy eyelids caress until undeniable, inevitable union
The body is at the mercy of the depths of sleep.

Peace………………………………………………………………………………………….
