Sleep Poem by Paula Lubbe

Sleep

Sleep, peaceful sleep
Eluding, alluring, and longing sleep
No more cries or tears to weep
As I fall into an eternal sleep

No worries, No disturbances and no cares
No more work or responsibilities to bear
No one to wake me no matter how hard they try
No more hearing of their sorrowful sighs

Sleep, you beckon me so
Who am I to say that I won’t go?
A limp embrace for a tired soul
Sleep, in this living nightmare I will live, no more
