Sleep My Child Poem by Gauri Gupta

Sleep My Child

Rating: 5.0

Sleep my child,
Cry no more
For the tears are in vain
And so are the silent screams
‘Tis a cruel world
Full of pain and misery

Hush my child,
Weep no more
I know you are scared
But you are all alone
In this world so dark
Full of bloodshed and gore

Come my child,
There there, now
You must stop,
Stop those tears now
For all Angels have fallen
And the Gods have left
‘Tis only you now
And the Devil himself

Be strong my child,
Be strong and proud
‘Morrow is still unseen
With hopes and joys abound
The night will not stay forever
The light will find its way
And in this world so cruel, so dark
You will be king one day.

This is so beautiful with the old style of writing. It could be in a book of classics. Keep writing and sharing with us. A '10! ' from me. Best Wishes, Marilyn
