Sleeping Doses Poem by Emmanuel Adekunle

Sleeping Doses

Get back from work
only at late night
took a bucket and departed
looked up and down
The sight of the cloud
to my bewilderment
was the dark hour of hell

I lied on my bed
and special songs penetrating
into my ears
'win' 'win' 'i win again'
it was a win from default
yet, i find myself clapping
picked a cloth
only yo find myself rolling it
a sign of jubilation?
Sleeping doses only at night
are esartz nature
winners are the beneficiaries
clappers are the losers
in a case of receiving
sleeping doses.
Sleeping doses are not only drugs
but the penetration of the
proboscis
