Sleeping In Wait Poem by Bradley Flowers

Sleeping In Wait

Rating: 4.5

There is an alluring feeling
The way the eyes sink low.
they touch to the lids- then shutter
The closed moments that feel like eternity.
They are heavy weights of comfort
Slowly to take place.
Wishing to stay awake—yet,
sight is seen to a losing battle
They are closed, peacefully I could slumber.
