Sleepless Night Poem by Nidhi Rajesh Kumari

Sleepless Night

I ain't got sleep in my eyes tonight
Creep out of bed to the window in the moonlight
Recollecting the memories of days that passed
Feeling the pain and remorse that lasts.

Each little thought pricks me like a needle
Breaking my heart, with sync to the fiddle
Every tear flows down burning my face
Darkness wins over light in my soul's race.

I recall the moments when I laughed aloud
Holding your hand in every crowd
Sharing the trust of never falling apart
But, stand here with a broken heart.

The chills of the cold wind pierce through my skin
I close my eyes in a hope to hold you again
But, open them to find no one around
Just me, the wind and loneliness profound.

I see a shooting star in the sky
Fold my hands, stop the cry
I make a wish asking your forgiveness
Before I break down of loneliness.

Just then, a rain dropp sprinkles on my hand
Like a sign from the Almighty's land
I close my window and lie down to sleep in
With hope fighting remorse, deep within.
