Small Needs And Small Wants Poem by Eli MorenoDrew

Small Needs And Small Wants

Upon sitting on my throne I had some thoughts:
That man is made from things of need.
He'll need some light and dark and things to feed
And lots of love, yes, lots and lots.

Because we are such creatures of desire
We find ourselves enveloped in lust,
Like chocolate and liqueur and a female's bust.
And seeing these desires like pyres,

We find a dichotomy of needs and wants.
Do we want love or infatuation
In kisses or mutual masturbation?
And yet we must stay with feelings that haunt
'Cause man is so made from small needs and small wants.
