Smearing Seasons With The Dragonfly. Poem by Christopher J. Grasso

Smearing Seasons With The Dragonfly.

Delicious changing seasons, the screen clinging catastrophe, awaiting the dragonfly
A star mounted anomaly in the shape of an asterisk is the dragonfly

A string bean caught by the fluff of the garden’s breeze
The kitten’s paw sways at the buzzing mystery that is the dragonfly

The tail zooming comet lingers overhead, observant children
Their fragile hands swatting miss the quickness that is the dragonfly

The summer’s finale now the last piece of meat on a chicken bone apparent
Bitten into the microcosmic life cycle of all creatures, but quicker for the dragonfly

A cycle that is the persistence of landing on a grass ornament of optimism
The weakening weight of the sun plucks the 1st leaf from a tree next to the dragonfly
