So Far, Yet So Near Poem by njiri wambui

So Far, Yet So Near

A whisper to awaken the spirit
A song to liven the atmosphere
A wish to keep the star shining

You, are gone from me, from this
This place that was to be forever ours
Ours, now and then, to all ages
Still, ...this place remains

Come near here dear, my soul cries
Reminiscing on your kissing...missing
Stretching my cry, why? did you have to go?

Still, I feel your arms cover me, warmly
Still, your smell engulfs around, snugly
Still, my heart keeps you near, always
Still, mine you are, warm as the sun rays
