So Fine, A Sinking Ship Poem by Sherri Gagliardi

So Fine, A Sinking Ship

Rating: 3.2

And so you leave me
And fine
I’ll go. I’ll go with my tail between my legs
Because I know I’m not wanted
I’m not needed or loved
So just break apart the thing we had
Called
Friendship
There’s a place where it all starts
And a place where it all ends
But maybe you’re misled
Maybe you think I’m thinking more than you think
Maybe you think I’m needing you
When I’m not
I’m just here
Just a part of this thing that we had
So, fine…
I’ll just breathe as
I leave
And you go
As I look back and watch you walking
Closer…away….

I don’t need you anymore
I’ll go
I’ll go with my tail between my legs
I’ll go to another place where I fit
Where there’s comfort in lack of love
Not needing more
Wanting less
I’ll go
And if you show up there
Then you must go

Because this is the place called friendship
Where it all starts
And where it all ends
And where we are all searching
And never finding what we want
And you must leave…
Because there’s friendship -
And there’s a sinking ship …
That one’s ours
The sinking ship
So, fine
I’ll go
