So Little Poem by Francis Duggan

So Little

So little for my years I do have to show
And so little of people and life I do know
Into my sixth decade with time ticking away
No fool like an old fool as some are known to say
So little of Nature's ways I know about
I am one of those blokes who is racked by self doubt
I've always lacked in confidence it does seem
Which does little for my sense of self esteem
Quite poor in my sixties but my type not rare
It is a rat race in the big World out there
Like all in their sixties my better days gone
But I am determined to keep on keeping on
It has been awhile now since my physical prime
Though I have not grown any wiser with the passing of time.
