So Much For The Male Ego Poem by Francis Duggan

So Much For The Male Ego

Rating: 5.0

There was a time not long ago when to me you'd say good day
Till with your own self importance you got carried away
Your recent job promotion could that be the reason why
That everytime I greet you now you do not make reply
From now on when I meet you I won't be saying hello
I will pass you in silence on the street as if you I do not know
Moving up through middle management success gone to your head
Of your recent promotion in the local newspaper I've read
An article on you and your photo in the local paper a boost to your sense of pride
Your feelings of superiority you no longer try to hide
But sad to think of your type some live on every street
Who like you feel self important in their own self conceit
So much for the male ego when it is out of control
It darkens the windows of the mind and keeps light out of the soul.
