So Ready Poem by Carolyn Brunelle

So Ready

Like soft curtains rustling in the kitchen window
a precious few warm, sunny days
held bright promise till
blustery breezes blew it all way;
brought more spring storms
just when I was SO ready for summer.
Rain will come again soon;
wash away all memory
of singing birds and butterflies,
kitty napping in soft cool grasses.
Again, the weather puts on the brakes
pulls me in reverse,
has me grumpy, disoriented;
in need of a sweater again.
Humor completely eludes me
in Mother Nature’s latest joke.
