So Very Sorry For The Family Poem by Michael Philips

So very sorry for the family.
Last year I suffered
Carbon monoxide poisoning too
At a condo.

Called my husband in Florida.
He just said you’ll get over it.
That’s when I found out he had another woman
Living in my house while I was out of state.

Out of state
Taking care of my ill father
Who went on to pass away.
Apparently this was not the first time.

I filed for divorce.
He lied, he cheated, and now he’s divorced.
I got my house back.
My friends took the mattress out front and set it on fire.
I got to watch.

Now he wants to get back together,
And can't get rid of her.
She does not work, is overweight,
And has no insurance for him, which I took care of.
He sold his truck, his horse trailer, and they rent.

Life is good.
He is gone, living in a rental.
I have carbon monoxide detectors everywhere.
I will put that family on the prayer list.
