Sober Poem by Alicia Meyers

Sober

I got lost there for a second,
Maybe it wasn't meant to be,
I thought it could last forever,
But now I can see.

I drank until my head was spinning,
After you broke up with me,
But now I'm better,
And now it fits clearly.

Chorus~
Sober up my life,
Sober up my rights,
You're not here no more,
You're not the one to hold me tight.

I'm sobered up,
And I feel nothing for you,
I'm sobered up,
And now you go straight through... me.

Walking down the street,
Seeing you with another,
It was okay for me,
But I guess it's alright for a cheater.

I drink until I'm fine,
But since you walked out of my life,
I guess it's alright,
That I won't be your wife.

Chorus~
Sober up my life,
Sober up my rights,
You're not here no more,
You're not the one to hold me tight.

I'm sobered up,
And I feel nothing for you,
I'm sobered up,
And now you go straight through... me.
I'm now sober!

Bridge:
I'm now sober!
I don't cry,
When I see you,
See you walk by!

I'm sober!
And I'm happy,
Just to be here,
To be sobering!

Chorus~
I sobered my life,
Sobered my rights,
You're gone and far away,
I don't see you anymore from day to night.

I'm sobered up,
And I feel great,
I'm sobered up,
And I have no hate.
Sobered up,
And no more standing near Hell's gate,
Sobered up,
And a living free soul mate!

I'm sober...
I'm sober...
I'm sober...
I'm... sober...
