Sod's Law Poem by Marilyn Shepperson

Sod's Law

Rating: 4.3

It's when you put your washing out
Under a sparkling blue sky
Then when it is almost dry
You go inside for a nap
But when you come out, that dry washing
Is now soaking wet
Or you go to the shops
A list of things to buy in hand
It is the most important item on the list
That they have just run out of
Or you want to watch a special programme on TV
And they decide to have a power cut
And you know full darn well
It's one of the few that won't be repeated
Or it's when you leave in plenty of time
To catch the bus or train
Only to find the thing is very late
Or been actually cancelled
So you miss that all important appointment
But cannot get to speak to the person
Because you can't get a signal on your phone
The list goes ever on and on
And so, my friend, could I
But I will leave to your imagination
The rest of the rules of Sod's law

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

This reminds me of something... but I can't think what. I do know it's well-written; boy, who couldn't relate to this? ! (unfortunately) . This is the sod's law of life written engagingly. Fairly personal but, as said, relatable. The mark of a fine piece. t x
