Sojourn Poem by Shruti Goswami

Sojourn

When you hardly look forward to the coming days
Feel traumatic enough to long and pine for the mundane ways
That somehow kept the dreams at bay
Perhaps its the only way
To keep yourself from turning so desperate
You wish the days passed away in an eye blink
To think not of things that one might come across
But think of things that had happened, nothing special
Yet those seem to be the most comforting thoughts
In a world where you are alone, but not lost.
Have you ever not looked forward to a much awaited time
Have you ever taken comfort in things, that were never truly fine
Sometimes, you seek refuge in the very things
That made you wish you were in some place else.
Have you wished to forget a sojourn, like it never happened
Like it never will?
