Solid Ground Poem by Jon M. Nelson

Solid Ground

I rolled into a one horse town,
Looking for a place to settle down.
I left the big city life behind,
Hoping for a new life I could find.

There was too much chaos in that place,
And it was time to move at a slower pace.
I went out looking for something more,
But had never been away from home before.

It was time to move and see what's out there,
Even though life can seem so unfair.
I had to go and follow my heart,
As I set off to make a new start.

There was no telling what would unfold,
Or exactly what my future would hold.
It was time for some kind of change,
In this world that now feels so strange.

What waits in this new life for me?
I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
I decided there was no more running around,
And it was time to stand on solid ground.
