Some Men Are Untrustworthy Poem by Francis Duggan

Some Men Are Untrustworthy

To say nice things to others is not hard to say
I know of a lovely lady time has left her gray
She fell for a younger man or was it his charm
That sadly has brought her to financial harm.

He never did tell her that he had a wife
And due to him she is in financial strife
He has relieved her of her savings and left her penniless
And he promised her love and he left her in stress.

A widow in her early sixties naive in her own way
For her lesson in love and trust a huge price she did pay
He took all of her money and he left her in tears
Though deception such as this has been going on for years.

All of her late husband's hard earned savings from her he did steal
To his type such a crime does not seem a big deal
Some men are untrustworthy and greed they pursue
And some men to honour can never be true.

He took all of her money but as wise people say
That for our wrongs to others the price we must pay
To honour and decency he is untrue
And each of us will receive the karma we are due.
