Some Mother's Son Poem by Francis Duggan

Some Mother's Son

Society will not forget him for what he has done
But we ought to remember he is some mother's son
And though he will be in jail for a very long time
His mum does not love him less despite his terrible crime,
His mum she will tell you my son is not bad
Despite my best efforts a tough upbringing he has had
He fell in with bad company they led him astray
And due to them he is where he is at today
Seen as a bad person a public disgrace
But by one person at least his is a well loved face
She still does stand by him despite what others of him do say
And from him she never will turn away
A jailbird and one of the bad of the town
But the mother she never will put her son down.
