Some Say Poem by Rob G. Gifford

Some Say

most times, anymore, i'd rather be alone,
sometimes, you know, i'm so far from home,
some say i'm strange, they just don't know,
where i've been and what i've seen,
the good the bad and in between,
the loss the pain i rarely show,
if they only knew,
i'd get a gold star sticker, not a slap to the face,
some say

most times, anymore, i can stand and face the day, but,
sometimes, you know, words can knock me down,
some say i'm soft, they just don't know,
who i was, the past i hide,
the good the bad and in between,
the angry side i rarely show,
if they only knew,
they'd be glad that i'm not me anymore,
some say

most times, anymore, i let god carry the load,
sometimes, you know, i bear the burden on my own,
some say i'm lost, they just don't know,
where i'm headed, the path i've chosen,
the good the bad and in between,
the hope for things yet unseen,
if they only knew,
how far i've come,
that they might ask how,
some say
