Someone I Knew Poem by Sabishii Chojutsuka

Someone I Knew

This is a story
Of someone I knew
He was like me
He was like you
Then one day
His heart was broken
Split into two
Now he sits in the shadows.
His heart a black hue.

He has gone from this world
That we live in
He has left us
Because they have left him
What would he have done?
What could he do?
Now I stand here
Reading this to you.

His heart broken.
Frozen in time.
He couldn’t take it.
He’d crossed the line.
Now he has joined them.
Now he has gone.
Why was the world so cruel
Just this one time.

He couldn’t take the pain
His cold heart.
He solved his problem
Where they all start
Now he lies cold on the floor.
His pain no more.
He has left us.
A knife in the floor.

So ends my tale
Of someone I knew
So ends his life.
Cold and blue.
He has found peace
In heaven or hell
God only knows.
But God won’t tell.

I hope he found
What he was looking for
I hope he chose.
Not the knife in the floor.
I’ll miss him always.
The friend that I lost.
But I wish him the peace
For all that it cost.
