Someone Ignite These Cinders Poem by Mark Heathcote

Someone Ignite These Cinders

Sparkle, glow and don't just go
Someone ignite these cinders.
Stay my child and don't just go
Don't leave me too my aching fingers.

Don't leave me I can't live alone in this room
Don't leave with a forthcoming new moon.

I'll wait patiently for every sunlit dune to move
I'll wait gravitationally for you son to hitherto
Back to the flames of life, I once gave birth to.
