Something Deeper Part 2 Poem by Paula Glynn

Something Deeper Part 2

We are on a planet,
That never stops spinning,
The law of karma is at play,
Haunting all our yesterdays.

Guns are fired, knives are used,
Threats and so much abuse,
As people and families,
Suffer the same fate,
Of a world made of hate.

Schoolyards are filled with tears,
Children growing up,
In a dirty world,
Their parents cold and indifferent,
Forgetting their own days,
Of the schoolyard.

For patterns repeat themselves,
Children copy parents,
While drugs and guns,
Deem a psychotic fate,
Of all concerned,
Prison locking up the guilty.

We must see something deeper,
See the maggots in the trash,
And we don't want to be trash,
The rich ruling the world.

Many have blood on their hands,
Having used and abused the weak,
With promises of mercy and money,
Those in tears never stopping to speak.

And money talks,
But the wise of the world,
Know better from experience,
And know how to avoid those traps,
For hate doesn't last forever,
The innocent with healing wounds,
That once caused so much distress.

The world carries on turning,
No matter the drama going on,
And there is so much drama,
On a beautiful earth,
Full of lies, fights and crime,
But something deeper,
Must be understood and taught.

Scientists have discovered,
Secrets of the universe,
Technology where it's at,
But Facebook can deal its own problems,
The weak and vulnerable bullied,
Cyber bullies overtaking,
The schoolyard bully.

And blood stains hands,
No person innocent of crime,
With all their lies and games,
Their criminality their fame.

Church services pray to God,
While the Lord of Hades,
Spits out the bloody damned,
From a fiery hell,
Evil casting a wicked spell.

But when you see something deeper,
You can learn love and hope,
And you will feel clean again,
As if you've used luxurious soap.

And the soul can be cleansed,
Time creating wisdom,
Freedom and love for the world,
For we are on a planet,
That never stops spinning,
Karma teaching children,
A happy and joyful fate,
Where there is no abuse or hate.
