Something That Was Nothing Poem by Reteika Cooper

Something That Was Nothing

Something that was nothing from the start
Became part of my heart
Thoes everyday feelings that grow
I'm afraid to show
I don't wanna fall, because I might fall too deep
For something that's so hard to keep
Those words of loyalty and trust
We built on feelings of lust
The feeling of joyfulness
Is now nothing but bitterness
So here I stand with a knife to a throat
And a suicide note
Two families crying, over two lives taken
And two funeral arrangements
All over something that was nothing!
