Song Of A Bored Man Poem by Eric Lungai

Song Of A Bored Man

Oh thee living dead
who can’t agree to disagree
who content with ugly beauty
do you never give in hope?

oh you despised lovers
children of vipers that bite not
yet inflicts painless pain of slow death
is it time to engage in serene wars?

oh thee wearied enthusiast
where do you cadge the energy
to sing with synergy in anergy
where voices reticent with fear thrive?

oh these cruel mercies
oozing from kaput pots of democracy
cordoning sorrows of joy
in this incessant sufferance

i pity the living dead
who still have ascetic hope
that they’ll survive towering tides
in this haven of desolation

oh thee living dead
the Lord is merciful you say
sorrow abounds but love is strong
for His will has no bliss in causing grief!
