Song Without End Poem by RICARDO JOHNS

Song Without End

When the wind is howling, and the winter nights are cold
Youll find me by a glowing fire, a blanket around my toes
The music fills the room, of love songs old and new,
all these songs, they bring a tear, my love i think of you

They tell of love, and sweet caress, laughter, and of pain
The tender kiss, the spoken word, I start to dream again
I feel myself now rocking, going from side to side
In time with the music, on a beautiful memory slide.

I think of our walks, our fun sailing days
Our time on the beach, so nice just to laze
To soak up the sun, and feel that soft breeze
The smell of the sea, your naughty, topless tease

The music changes tempo, to a slow and rhythmic flow
I knew right then, when we first met, my love could only grow
The conversation flowed, in never ending streams
We talked about just everything, and asked about our dreams

We laughed and joked, said silly things
First words that came to mind
Then laughed again, at what was said
and blamed it on the wine

Now the evenings over, and it's time to say goodnight
I thought my heart would falter in it's pounding head long flight
Your eyes met mine, our lips they touched, In a beautiful timeless kiss
The warmth that flowed between us, Oh that wonderful heavenly bliss

But as the music fades, and I lose my only friend
I'm left here in my loneliness, my life, a song without end.
