Lord you were always there when my life was bent out of shape
you were there when loneliness got the best of who i am
you were there when my feeble heart grew weary with sorrow
you are still here right beside me uttering words of wisdom


Lord you were always there when nothing made sense to me
you were there when my world became dark and cold
you were there when my soul thirsts for love and care
you are still here right beside me let'n me know you care


Lord you were always there when all my friends left me
you were there when my body gave up and death rushed in
you were there to pull me up and save me from myself
you are still here right where you have always been.
