Songs Of Rapture Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Songs Of Rapture

The rapture of the birdsongs,
Cleared the air near the clouds.
For they sang on and on,
So long, so long.
It mattered not who,
Heard their song,
For their song,
Belonged,
Everywhere and anywhere they sang.
In the rapture of the air and clouds,
Their clear songs rang.
For the meaning of their song,
Was just so.
They meant words of long ago.
But they meant words of tomorrow.
They meant words of right now.
For the air and clouds were right now.
And so, the rapture of the birdsongs,
Cleared the air near the clouds,
And sang songs of right now.
