Sonnet 13 Poem by Ahmad Shiddiqi

Sonnet 13

Rating: 3.5

in the corner of the garden's soft cobblestones
Barcelona is filled with crinoline flowers
it was he who celebrated an impassioned fame here
on the other hand, kept him related to the closest dear

along Jamuna River, there were lotus uprising
Mahatma Gandhi had not stopped thinking
of the freedom and the poor people
the dream of pure heart was so simple

thou rhymes are more lovely and more delicate
and spring's feeling hath all too wild a date
if you can bear to know the love you've spoken
sense the things you gave your will to, widen
fly with angels, nor lose the comfort touch
all eagles count on you, but none too much

Fly with angels as an angel without wings levitating to meet the celestial sun sending us love and light.
