Sonnet # 37 The Spanish Maiden Poem by John A. Hancock

Sonnet # 37 The Spanish Maiden

Her eyes were dark jet black like coal
Fill'd with passion and desire
Like glowing embers they slowly burn'd
Helplessly I was drawn to their mystic fire
Such warmth I felt whilst in her arms
A endless moment within her sweet embrace
Together we waltz'd the dance of dreams
Lost between the world of time and space
Cast adrift floating with a shinning vision
For me to beautiful to compare
Dancing with a wingless angel across the floor
Twas like we were walking upon the air
Oh for the chance once more to see
The spanish maiden who danced with me
