Sonnet - 5 Poem by Shankaran Kutty

Sonnet - 5

What ancient Goddess breathed her love
Which princess did her beauty yield
What mission brought thee to us earthlings now
Like an angel that flutters o’er the field
With circles, spots and lines of gold
Which artist painted the beauty of your wings
A feast for the eyes of young and old
You remind the creator amongst us mundane things
You are the epitome of innocence
Each morning can I wake up to your show
In this dark, evil world in decadence
You are the saving grace you know
My heart’s pleasures in this world does lie
When I see and dance with the butterfly
