Sonnet: A Lukewarm Doctor's Day,2020 Poem by Dr John Celes

Sonnet: A Lukewarm Doctor's Day,2020

The Doctor's Day this year was not so good;
The Pandemic took doctors' lives galore;
Lock-downs had spoilt the profession's good mood;
The Covid nineteen has turned all things sore.

The mask on face has stolen laughs and smiles;
The hood of Covid warriors scary looks;
So many doctors stay apart for miles;
No cure or treatment's found in any books!

The world is fighting hard to help those ill;
Though doctors stole the limelight, all's not well;
The very sick ones pay a hefty bill;
Some forefront doctors go through jaws of hell!

The stress and strain on doctors may not cease;
Almighty God alone can usher peace!

‘Happy Doctor's Day to all anyway;
Let pandemic end soon some day, we pray! '
